This Privacy Policy describes how Freeborn Corp ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the BackgroundCheck mobile application (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

2. How We Protect Sensitive Data

Your Social Security Number is encrypted (AES-256) only for the brief period needed to run your search, and is permanently deleted from our database once your report is generated. We do not retain it afterward.
SSNs are always masked (last four digits only) when displayed in reports.
All data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections.
Data is stored in Microsoft Azure data centers in the United States.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information you provide solely to: (a) perform the background check you request through our third-party data provider; (b) maintain transaction records for audit, support, and legal compliance purposes; and (c) protect the Service against fraud and abuse. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

4. Third-Party Data Sources

Background check results are obtained from Innovative Data Solutions, Inc., which compiles public record information. Search parameters (name, date of birth, SSN) are transmitted to this provider to perform the search. Their handling of data is governed by their own policies and applicable law.

5. Data Retention

Your Social Security Number is deleted from our database as soon as your report has been generated; we do not keep it afterward. Other transaction records and report data (name, date of birth, search results) are retained for audit and legal compliance purposes. You may request deletion of your search records by contacting us; we will honor deletion requests except where retention is required by law or our data provider agreements.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your state of residence (e.g., California residents under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, request its deletion, and not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. 7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for use by anyone under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
